Batik Painting

For this project we were to get a piece of paper and draw an amphibious animal, along with making some details. After this we outline it with sharpie and put a piece of fabric over it. We then used wax to outline the sharpie on the fabric. After this we used fabric dye and colored the animals. We then used other wax to 'save' the color, and created more layers of color. We 'saved' colors as much as we needed until the project was finished.

My batik painting was of a snake climbing up a tree, the snake was a blue color with black stripes on it, the log was brown with different details that were green, to signify moss, and there were some leaves. The background was a mix of brown green and other colors, I didn't have a process for that, I just kind of randomly did colors.

Like other projects I do not have a photo of this, but I described the process for an idea.

Landscape Box

To create the landscape box we were to pick a theme- whether garden, mountain, plains, graveyard, etc. We created a box and dried it some, and then we drew/designed whatever theme we wanted onto the side. Then we cut out those designs from another slab of clay, and scored it into place. We then cut off a top and fired the boxes. After that we were to paint the sides.

I do not have a picture, but I described the entire process so you have an idea of what it was to be.

Minnie Evans art project

I can't take a photo of this; my grandmother wanted it and she took it home with her to Wilson (which is 2 hours away) and she has a flip phone, which she is unable to send photos with, as well as she is not familiar with how technology works, The Minnie Evans project was of pop art (I believe) and symmetry.

My Minnie Evans style drawing was of a tree in a forest, a monkey, owl, deer, and bird in it. The bird was red, the monkey was lime green, the own was purple, and the deer was blue. The ground was red and the tree was yellow, the swing in which attached to the tree was a tan-ish color. The background was split into four parts, the red ground, a section that had column-like shapes side by side with rounded tops, each a different height, and were green. The next had swirls, each in the color of a rainbow. The top had wave-like shapes, the background blue, and the shapes each a different shade of blue.
