Daniel Kyre Tribute Drawings

First tribute drawing

Second tribute drawing

These drawings were made for Daniel Lee Kyre, a YouTuber I watched and an idol of mine. Daniel was found on September 16th 2015 in critical condition after a suicide attempt. He suffered irreversible brain damage and would not survive, being pulled off of life support on September 18th 2015, dying while surrounded by friends and family at age 21. I drew these in tribute to the man who inspired me and put a smile on my face with ever video. Fly high, Daniel Kyre, we will never forget all the things you have done to try and make our lives brighter.

Mandala

Finished Product

Media: Online design ideas, paint, triangles/section dividers, tracing paper, pencils
Process: Look online at mandalas to have an idea of what to do, then come up with your own designs for it. Use tracing paper to trace one of the designs you made onto the mandala paper/board. Continue using the tracing paper to flip and trace until the design is all the way around the circle outline. Afterwards paint the designs you made with a group color of your choice, in which I chose green.

Monster Pot

For this project we created pots and chose a design of a monster to create. Mine was based on a robot/steampunk style monster with a top hat which had goggles, a nose, gears on the side, gears for eyes, and a weird sort of mouth. You could have created anything, and there were many different styles that were created. I cannot seem to load the picture of my pot onto google, I do not know why.

Greek Pot

The Greek pot was to make a pot based on Black Figure, Red Figure, oriental, and geometric. I chose Black Figure, painting the background red and then painting on black figures of Theseus and the Minotaur, painting the names on the handle with greek-style writing and doing a pattern at the top of the pot.

Coil Pot

The coil pot was made by rolling up pieces of clay and stacking them on top of each other. You created details with the coils or blended them together and then used rollers to put details on the side. Once it was fired you glazed it and used a shiny glaze. It was fired again, and then finished.

Pinch Pot

My Pinch Pot was of a turtle, in which I cannot find to take a picture of. Basically we made a pinch pot, a pot made with your hands, and then chose an animal to make the pot of. I chose a turtle, creating a head, legs, and a tail from separate pieces of clay. I then created detailed and scored on the parts. After it was detailed and fired I used black so paint it and then washed it off, the black remained in the lines. I then painted it green, it was fired again, and done.
